No. CPP retirement pension can start from 60; OAS cannot start before 65. Each has its own increase for delaying after 65, ending at 70. Compare actual entitlements and payments you would miss while waiting. Read the CPP timing rules and the OAS timing rules.
Check eligibility first. Service Canada says people eligible for GIS should not wait to apply for OAS. GIS is not paid while OAS is delayed, and a spouse may be unable to receive the Allowance. CPP timing still needs its own household-income comparison. Read the GIS and Allowance exception.
